WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?! REIGNITING THE DEBATE OVER MUCH LOVED CHILDHOOD GAME.

To celebrate the launch of the Emirates FA Cup and Women’s FA Cup Official Match Balls, Mitre introduces 'What Do You Call It?', a new football series inspired by the classic childhood game.

For generations, football fans across the country have grown up playing their own version of the same game. The name might change from town to town, but the magic remains the same. Teams of two, one goal, and the dream of scoring the winner. Whether you call it FA Cup Doubles, Wembley, Knockouts or something else entirely, it’s a game which captures everything the competition stands for: quite simply, that anyone can have their moment.” 

The FA Cup has a unique connection across every level of the game. That’s why, to mark another season of FA Cup action, we wanted to take the much-loved game around the country and we’re launching What Do You Call It?,

Hosted by football personalities Tom Garratt and Olivia Buzaglo, the series will see teams of two compete to be crowned the nation’s top pairing in the men’s and women’s game, with regional rounds culminating in a Grand Final. Throughout the series, there will be a few famous faces to compete against, and teams will have to beat ScouseGK in goal, with Behind the Whistle taking charge of proceedings as the referee. 

The best bit beyond the fact that each round will use this season’s Ultimax Pro Balls, is that the winning pairs, will not only play themselves into doubles folklore, but they will win the ultimate FA Cup Final Matchday experience. 

To enter, prospective teammates simply need to submit a video of no longer than 30 seconds, explaining what they call the game in their region, alongside their favourite FA Cup memory. Entries can be submitted via the link HERE
